I've also downloaded the installer, the "Install macOS Mojave" 6.03 GB installer. I restart, the computer boots fine, and then nothing, no upgrade, no indication of anything. I tried to upgrade to Mojave using the App Store "Open" method, it downloads and shows the progress bar, says 14 minutes, and then asks me to restart. I have tried to upgrade to High Sierra in the past as well (I have the 5.21gb installer in my Applications folder from Nov 20 2017) but I think whatever issue is affecting any macOS upgrade. I suspect I'll get simple replies to do "X" that won't work, I don't expect to get help here, but I'm starting to adventure out to resolve this (and since Apple doesn't let me schedule Genius Bar appointment for this issue, this is my next step).

Whenever I have a problem with my Mac, the first question I am asked by Apple support is "have you installed all the latest updates?" In this case, I have. Or, like Apple, they will simply stop supporting the old apps. Sure, we can stick with Sierra but then Apple will force all other apps to update to Mojave and the old apps will just stop working that's actually the reason I updated/was forced to update in the first place. I can get through hours without a problem using Adobe, AutoCAD and web browser, sometimes.Įffectively, what Apple has done is made all our computers obsolete.

My machine - which has been a great machine and still respectable when benchmarked against the newest releases. So, for all those with the NVIDIA GeForce GT 650M GPU, are you having problems? I have been working on this issue now for about a week and I can't seem to get any help - I shouldn't say that.Apple is happy to help only, there isn't a problem, in their opinion. Just 11 days till the MBP Mid 2012 is vintaged by Apple.
